T-Cushion Sofa Slipcovers
First off, what is a T-cushion slipcover?
As its name implies, it is simply a slipcover that fits what are called “t-cushions” – furniture sitting cushions that are shaped as a “T.”
As you can see from the image below, the top part of the “T” extends out past the armrests, and wraps around on each side.
The parts of the cushion that stick out and form the top part of the “T” are often referred to as the “ears” of the cushions.

Before the advent of the t cushion slipcover, slipcovers for this kind of furniture construction looked ill-fitting. Often individuals would have no choice but to purchase a box cushion slipcover (a rectangular shaped slipcover) and nip the ends around the t cushion ears. While workable, this type of solution did not match the look of a custom-made t cushion slipcover.
A custom-made t cushion slipcover – like all custom made textiles – however, was expensive. Those with t cushion furniture who didn’t want to reupholster a fading piece, but also didn’t want to spend a small fortune on a custom designed slipcover, were left with nowhere to turn.
